Friday, August 9 “Maximizing Results in Mediation” 1 hour MCLE, including 0.25 hours ethics |
This seminar will offer practical tips on how to obtain better results for your clients in mediation. This will be an active presentation with three experienced litigators and mediators on how to better prepare your case and your clients for mediation and how to best handle the negotiation through a better resolution. It will cover confidentiality in communication with the mediator and in the mediator's communication between the parties; honesty with clients and with the mediator in positional bargaining. |

This seminar will offer a discussion of Texas data privacy issues affecting Texas employers with an emphasis on compliance with the new Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TXDPDS) and the amended data breach notification requirements in Section 521.053 of the Texas Business and Commerce. Additionally, the presentation will address data privacy-adjacent areas of concern at both the state and federal level, including the risk of using AI tools in the workplace. |

This CLE will discuss the challenges lawyers face when switching practice environments, including transitioning from Big Law to running your own shop, changing from a private law firm, to an in-house position, and switching your practice area. The speakers will provide a hit list of lessons learned and share experience to give you an edge if you are looking to make a jump! While transactional insurance is not a new tool itself, we are seeing a lot of developments in the products and coverages being offered in ways that are making deals easier and more affordable. |
