The Houston Bar Association provides attorneys to speak on legal topics to schools, local organizations, community centers, and other community groups without charge.
This program is coordinated by the Speakers Bureau Committee. For more information on this program, contact Education Coordinator Alli Hessel at allih@hba.org or (346) 471-3293, or Associate Executive Director Ashley Gagnon Steininger at ashleyg@hba.org, or (346) 471-3431.
The Houston Bar Association adopted the following policy for speakers at HBA events: All HBA members, including judges and candidates for public office, can serve as speakers at HBA events and programs. There should be no active campaigning, no literature distributed, no buttons worn, essentially nothing to indicate that a member or judge is in a contested race for office, and nothing urging a favorable vote. All HBA members, including judges and judicial candidates, may serve on HBA committees.
Legal topics available for request include...
• Law as a Career | • Family Law |
• How to Hire an Attorney | • Criminal Law |
