Real Estate

The Real Estate Law Section offers monthly lunch meetings during its fiscal year (September through June).  Speakers present topics ranging from leasing, development, loan transactions, landlord/tenant issues, legislative updates, and other relevant real estate issues. CLE credit of 1 hour is given for attendance at each presentation.

The Section participates in and contributes to several community-based fundraising campaigns including Habitat for Humanity, the Harvest Party, and the HBA Law Week Fun Run. Monetary scholarships are awarded to up to 3 students at each of Houston’s law schools.

Meetings:
The Section has resumed lunch meetings, with lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. followed by CLE programming at 12:00 p.m. Meetings are currently held at Jackson Walker LLP (1401 McKinney, 9th Floor, Suite 945 Houston, TX 77010). Registration is required for in person attendance (even for annual subscribers). Up to five students from each local law school may attend.

Scholarships:
Total of $3,000 in scholarship funds awarded to each Houston law school. Amount awarded per student will be based on number of recipients selected. Minimum award of $1,000 per recipient.
